I have to admit, the title of Craig Groeschel’s new book–WEIRD: Because Normal Isn’t Working, caught my attention. And I’m glad it did.  If you’re wanting to recalibrate your life to better follow Jesus . . . this one is worth reading.

Craig invites us to be “weird” followers of Jesus.  Not in the sense of dying your hair blue or standing on the street corners shouting at people to “turn or burn!”  But weird in the sense that following Jesus is a different lifestyle from what normal people live.

Groeschel encourages us to ask some hard questions of our lives in several areas:  how we spend our time, how we spend our money, how we invest in relationships, how we view sex and the priority of our life values.

A few of my favorite quotes . . .

“Normal people allow good things to become the enemy of the best things.”

“When a person commits adultery there are Biblical grounds for divorce.  But don’t ever forget:  adultery is also Biblical grounds for forgiveness, healing, and restoration.”

“I believe our greatest priority as Christian parents is to gradually transfer our children’s dependence away from us until it rests solely on God.”

WEIRD definitely challenged several areas of the way I’m living my life.  Pick this one up!
