Gregnettle.com is the blog of Greg Nettle, senior pastor of Rivertree Christian Church. The roar of love is a favorite description of how Greg describes God's love for all people. Greg has dedicated his life to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in the most effective ways possible. Greg believes that the sign of a mature Christian is not how far they remove themselves from the world, but how deeply they penetrate the world with the "roar of God's love."
“Take the old prophets as your mentors. They put up with anything, went through everything, and never quit, all the time honoring God. What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You’ve heard, of course, of Job’s staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That’s because God cares right down to the last detail.” James 5:10-11 The Message
Elijah John has great parents because they love and honor God.
A HUGE Congratulations to you and your beautiful family. What a joy your family will experience as a result of opening your home to Elijah.
Two short years ago we became a transracially adoptive family. Often times I’ve thanked God for allowing me to see life through the perspective of my African American children.
I pray that your journey down this road blesses your family and shows others that ALL of God’s children deserve a loving family. He has an incredible plan for each of us. Thanks for allowing us to watch God work to bring him home!
Greg and Julie and Tabs, This brings back very fond memories. CONGRATULATIONS AND A BIG HUG. You will remember this moment forever and ever. God’s will be done. David and Donna
Doesn’t Dad just ROCK all the TIME! Even in the midst of the murkiness of this your faithfulness to Him who LOVES us was an inspiration and as he is true to his word the following was lived out: “Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that your house and your father’s house would minister before me forever.’ But now the LORD declares: ‘Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.” 1 Samuel 2:30
We obviously know what category your family falls under brother.
We rejoice with you. We could not wait to hear the news and kept checking your blog for the news. Praise the Lord! What a blessing! Now we will pray that he sleeps through the night
I logged on to Greg’s Blog for the very first time ever today to hopefully see his comments pertaining to something entirely different. I was SO tickled to see this announcement! It’s been a long road and I can only imagine the emotion in the Nettle home.
Bless you for making this little boy part of your family.
Can’t wait to see him in person. What a journey……it now continues…..have fun, get some sleep when you can. Lastly, go have a good cigar on your deck and be amazed at what God is doing!

about meGreg Nettle
I am a diehard Cleveland Browns fan that dies hard every year. I have traveled to Peru, Ecuador, Ireland, Tanzania, England, France, Holland, South Africa, Wales, Northern Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Haiti and Scotland. And there’s nothing I would rather do than have a cup of coffee with my wife, Julie, at our local Starbucks. I enjoy bungee jumping, whitewater rafting and skydiving. The faster the roller coaster the better. My most recent adventures have included climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and a spiritual pilgrimage to Israel. I have read more than 50 books a year for the past 20 years but my favorite is to read the Bible with my 10 year old daughter, Tabitha and newly adopted son, Elijah. I used to travel and sing with Rich Mullins and I have had breakfast with Jerry Falwell. I would rather spend an hour with Howard Stern than an hour with the Pope. I love Kraft macaroni and cheese out of a box, Ho Ho’s, filet mignon and lobster with drawn butter—jalapenos on everything..
Sitting here with a big stupid grin
Thanks, God.
Post some pictures soon, Greg.
God is good.

Not flesh of my flesh,
nor bone of my bone,
by still miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute
You didn’t grow under my heart
but in it.
The best is yet to come!
